George Furbish, a native Rhode Islander and current resident at North Farm in Bristol, has been a resident of southern New England for his entire life. His artwork often reflects the local environment and community, showcasing his skill in capturing the unique beauty of Rhode Island’s landscapes and everyday life. His paintings are known for their detailed representation of the state's charm.

"I am primarily a painter of landscapes and seascapes. The natural beauty of the outdoors has always fascinated and inspired me," George shared. "Through my art, I try to recreate for others the emotional connection that I feel while visiting certain places. The seasonal changes, daily shifts in atmospheric conditions, and the continuous play of light offer ongoing inspiration and challenges to the landscape painter. Many of the same places that inspired great American landscape painters also inspire me. Through my painting, I hope to share these emotional connections with others."

George was a member of the Spring Bull Studio and Gallery, located on Bellevue Avenue in Newport, and he has won numerous awards in juried exhibitions at Spring Bull Gallery, Wickford Art Association, and the Portsmouth Arts Guild.

This is just a sampling of George Furbish’s work. There will be over 20 original paintings on display and available for sale during the October Art Show at Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty.
